We Got Infested?? (Week 5)

Image
Hey guys!! This week has been a very good and interesting week. On Tuesday we did some more service for the food bank, and went live again on Facebook. The live was a lot of fun, for those of you that missed it we ate jello. Elder Leavitt spoke the great words of wisdom, "don't let your testimony be jello".  I was also able to witness another miracle with our new friend Layla. I contacted her on Facebook, I was able to message her right as soon as she got of the phone with a loved one. She had been really struggling with depression. I was really able to help her though her this difficult time in her life. And that was awesome. I know that our Father in Heaven knows both of us perfectly, and we were definitely connected on Facebook for a reason. We did have a lesson last week but we had to reschedule but we should be teaching her again tonight! On Wednesday, we finally met with our new friend Carmen. Elder Leavitt was able to get in contact with her on Facebook and w

Hey guys! So I have now officially been "on my mission" for 6 months! Me and Elder Leavitt actually share the same mission birthday and on the 19th, I turned 6 months old and he turned 7 months old. So that was fun. We got some dairy dan to celebrate. We finally went live on Tuesday for our first breakdown of King Benjamin's address, which was awesome. We are going live again tomorrow and I am very excited. We also did some more service for the food bank.  On Wednesday, we had our first lesson with Loree. We were able to get to know her better. We didn't have the time to teach her but we bore some testimony and learned a lot about her. She's been through a lot of sadness and heartbreak! The gospel could bring her so much joy! It'll be a couple of weeks until we can teach her again because she is taking a trip but she is excited to meet with us. We also had an awesome meeting with Sister Gray here in the ward. We learned that she had actually been inacti

Hey guys!!   This week has been wild! I guess the biggest news is that the trio has been broken up! 😭😢 . Its just me and Elder Leavitt now! We lost our dear Elder Perkes! I learned a lot from him and we will miss him dearly!   But this week had been pretty awesome otherwise. On Tuesday we had the opportunity to spend a few hours with Elder Compton before he caught his flight home. He was good to talk to, he said that although these last 6 months have been different but he wouldn't have had it any other way.  On Wednesday I got threatened by a guy on Facebook! He wanted to fight me because another guy with my name is texting his girlfriends sisters? He wanted me to drop an address and he wanted to "pull up". So I told him that I'm a missionary and that I'm not even from Michigan, but he didn't believe me so I just ended up blocking him. But after, we did some more service for the food bank, and we were able to participate in a garden project! We weeded

Week 2 in Michigan

Hi everybody! I have had another great week here in michigan! On Tuesday I had a cool experience, we were calling some members to set up some short meetings to get to know them, and we called Sister Britton in our ward, and when I was scheduling the lesson, she just replied "oh well I have time right now". So we literally were able to teach her over the phone right at the moment, and it was really cool! I pretty much lead with the small talk and getting to know her while my companions prepared a spiritual message and it was really good. She gave us my first referral too! It was a guy named Boone Allen. He's and older gentleman in his 60's who recently lost his wife. Oh man Boone Allen. We called him on Thursday and that guy is wild. I told him that Sister Britton had referred him and asked if he was interested in taking some lessons. And he told me no 😂😂 . He was a super nice guy though and we talked for a while. We will continue to work on him through sister Br
