Last, Last, Last Dairy Dans (week 9)

Image
Hello everyone!  We are definitely in a season of change. There is snow expected for Michigan next week and we can actually kind of see through the trees now! We live about 10 minutes away from downtown Lansing with the capital building and the skyscrapers, but you would never know it. The trees hide everything! On Tuesday I spent about 3 hours making salsa out of the tomatoes. But it ended up being really good! At first it was super spicy so then I diluted it with more tomatoes, and then the flavor was off, then I fixed the flavor, and then the salsa just didn't taste good until the next morning when it was cold? And now its pretty good. I also went live again! I'm going to go live again tomorrow but I have no idea what to do it on.  On Wednesday we did some more garden service. I cut and laid a lot of landscape fabric. We also got our last Dairy Dans after service! I got the brownie fantasy and it was amazing. On Thursday, we had a social media specialist meeting with a

Tomatoes, Transfers, and 7 months (Week 8)

Hello everyone!  I guess the biggest news from this week was the transfer we had! Sister Heap referred to it as a "monster transfer". Out of the 92 companionships in the mission, every one of them except for 9 would experience changes. Transfer calls were supposed to be on Saturday and then transfers were to happen on Monday/Tuesday. But to accommodate for a bunch of new missionaries that were coming in on Monday, we received an email Friday morning telling us that transfer calls were going to be that day and the transfer would happen on Saturday. We also learned that the mission would be expanding from 6 to 9 zones. We got our transfer calls, and once again, I was in the slim minority! We were of the 9 companionships that did not experience a change. This has happened 2 transfers in a row which is crazy! We were called as social media specialists though! So that will be fun! We will be running the zone page along with the specialists from the newly formed Jackson zone. So

Sprints 🏃‍♂️ (week 7)

So this week, President Heap issued a challenge to the whole mission! As a mission, from Monday the 5th to Sunday the 11th, we had a goal to have 1000 spirit led invitations for new friends to be taught, 500 spirit led invitations to read the book of mormon, 500 spirit led invitations to come to church, and 250 member lessons set up. President Heap said that so much of a mission and of life is like running a marathon, but this week was the time to sprint. And sprint we did! As a mission we had 894 invites to church, 306 2-1-2 lessons set up, 1603 invitations to be taught, and 736 invitations to read the Book of Mormon! So that was awesome. It was a great week.   So our Facebook finding efforts took up a lot of our time this week. But last Monday, we had a little district p-day that almost turned into a zone p-day 😂 . We carved pumkins and played some soccer.    On Tuesday we had interviews with President Heap! It was amazing to be able to talk with President Heap. Unfortunately, b

Hi everybody! T his week was a good one. On Tuesday we had another Bible study with Carmen. And Carmen is amazing! We have really enjoyed meeting with her and we studied the story of David and Goliath in 1 Samuel 17. And she tuned into our Facebook live! And our Facebook live was really cool! We went in depth about Mosiah 4. This was the chapter that after I read in my personal study, that I went to Elder Leavitt and said we need to do a Facebook live series about this. The live has been amazing and we are doing a 4th part tomorrow! Wednesday we had a super busy day. We had district council in the morning and then we met with Loree! We were able to teach her most of the Plan of Salvation. The spirit was felt so strongly in that meeting. Loree is literally amazing. She went through her house and found a book of mormon that her mom said may or may not be there, and she wants to read and study! Everything we teach makes good sense to her and she has some amazing righteous desires. We
