A Very Sad Transfer (week 14)

Hello everyone! It's been another great week here in Michigan! I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving.

On Tuesday I had the opportunity to have a virtual interview with President Heap and it was an amazing experience. We didn't learn much about transfers, but he told us that our companionship would most likely be experiencing a change. I also baked some gluten free cookies for a really good friend of ours in the ward! So there are still many cookies being baked.

On Wednesday we were on tradeoffs with the District leader and his companions all day which was awesome!

On Thursday we had an amazing Thanksgiving. In the morning, we ran a turkey trot 5k as a district! That was super fun. Then we had an AMAZING zone conference in the afternoon. We received some good instruction from our Stake President, President and Sister Heap, Elder Schamanski and Elder Pepa, and our zone leaders and sister training leaders for the zone. It was such a spiritual and special experience! For dinner, a very generous and amazing family took great care of us and provided us with a feast! We are so so grateful for them. We just barely finished all the leftovers today. We also had a missionwide Thanksgiving devotional, and if any of you are interested, Abraham Lincoln's speech as he dedicates Thanksgiving as a national holiday is amazing!

On Friday, our district was allowed to get together for a Thanksgiving activity because of the zone conference the day before and that was very fun!

On Saturday we got transfer calls! And Elder Leavitt will be leaving us! We had heard rumors that he was going to be called as a district leader somewhere, but he was called as a zone leader in midland! Me and Elder Averill will be staying here, and we will be training a new missionary that we will pick up on Thursday. So exciting stuff here in Meridian! Elder Leavitt will be dearly missed though!

On Sunday, we did not have in person church because of a recent COVID spike here in Michigan. But we were able to participate in a member Facebook training for second hour which was fun!

We have some new friends who we are teaching, and we are continuing to teach others! The work in Meridian continues strong and things here are great! We got our first taste of snow today and we look forward to a great winter.

Thank you for your support!

Elder Oswald
