Good eats and good news 👀 (Week 26)

Hello everyone! This week has been kind of crazy. It was the last week of the transfer.

This week we were in the heat if a content competition within the zone so we spent a lot of time making content but that has been great! Reminded me a lot of my days as a social media specialist!

Our friend who is preparing for baptism is doing really well! We taught him the plan of Salvation this week! His mother has been feeling sick lately so it has been a bit difficult to meet with them so keep her in your prayers!

On Wednesday we drove to Spring Lake for district council and that was pretty sweet. Afterwards we went as a district for lunch at a place called papa bears. The place is super mom and pop style, the restaurant is in a house. But they have been on the food network before on outrageous eats or whatever. They are famous for their Grizzly, it is a 10 pound (they said it was actually closer to 14 pounds) stuffed hashbrown! As a district with 7 of us eating we downed 2 grizzlies. It was awesome!

We dropped off a Book of Mormon to a friend in Sparta on Thursday, and had content exchanges with Elder Duersch and Elder Huntsman on Friday. That was awesome, we made a lot of content for the competition.

I am so full of gratitude for this amazing ward this week though. There are some amazing individuals here in Grand Valley! What a privilege it is to be serving here.

I've begun my study of the book Saints too and that has been amazing! I'm continuing to try and read the whole book of Docterine and Covenants before April conference, and my testimony of the Restoration has grown so much. What a miracle. How amazing it is that God would love us enough to restore to the earth all that is necessary for us to return to Him.

Saturday was crazy though. We got transfer calls and we learned that me and Diaz are staying, but we are getting a new trainee! I am super excited for the opportunity to train again. It is an amazing privilege to do the best I can to set up a missionary for success. Saturday night though we got a call from President Heap and he let me know that the South Africa Cape Town mission is ready to take me! I am hoping to fly out sometime in March maybe around the 11th.

I am so excited to finally begin my South African Adventure, but I will dearly miss the Michigan Lansing Mission. This is a special mission and it will always hold a special place in my heart. This mission presidency is insane and the people of Michigan are so dear to my heart. Finally being able to go to South Africa is amazing though! I hit 11 months this Friday, and so I will spend almost exactly a year here and a year in Africa. That sounds right about perfect!

If I fly out on the 11th, there is a chance that I could be able to meet my MTC companion Elder Eckhart who is flying to Kenya on the 11th! That would be super cool.

This news was really from out of no where! I'm still a little shocked but very excited!

Yesterday though we met with another new friend, and she is amazing! We were able to pray with her and should hopefully be meeting again next Sunday!

It's been a crazy week but a great one here in Michigan! I'm really taking in all that I can for the last little bit of time I have here! But thank you all for your support, and the title of this blog can soon be true!
