The roaring 20's (weeks 11 & 12)

Hello everyone! So sorry I didn't have time to get my weekly out last week, it has been very busy but very good here in Michigan!

Last week we had the opportunity to go to the Zoo here in Lansing which was amazing! It was super fun. Last Tuesday I turned 20, which was insane! Elder Averill made me some breakfast (he may or may not have set off the smoke alarm in the process). We had a lesson, did some service, and then I made myself some birthday pancakes in the evening 😂. It was a good day! I was well taken care of by some of the amazing missionaries in my district.

Last Thursday, as Social media specialists, we hosted a training for Facebook finding for all the new missionaries and their companions. It went really well and we really enjoyed giving the training!

We had a really special experience last Friday. Here in Meridian, we have to pay for our laundry in quarters. Which has been kind of a burden, it has definitely drained a lot of our funds but we have managed. The apartment complex recently upped the laundry price even so it hasn't been too good. But we went to exchange 20 dollars worth of quarters, and long story short, we ended up getting maybe 30 dollars back. It was amazing to see that our Father in Heaven is truly aware of us and is looking out for is. I have absolutely no doubt that he was actively involved in that tender miracle we were able to experience.

Service last Saturday at the gardens was fun! I spent a lot of time with a paw paw tree, it was kind of my project, and it was super fun. I was able to weed, mulch, stake, and build a fence around the tree.

Last pday was a fun one! On our way to buy groceries, we totally blew out our rear driver side tire. So we pulled over on the highway and had to swap it with our spare tire. I'm happy to say that my experience as a mechanic was very useful and we were able to have the spare tire on and we were driving away within about 15 minutes of when we blew the tire which was cool. We also joined a few other missionaries and played some beach volleyball! It was a very nice day.

On Wednesday, the Sisters here in Meridian gave us a wonderful gift. They had found some old typewriters in their apartment and were going to throw them out, and I made sure that the didn't. And it was a good choice! They are so so cool. I have had fun tinkering with them. I typed out the whole Restoration Proclamation with it. But they need some new ribbons so they are out of commission for a bit but that has been so fun.

On Thursday we got a new tire 😁

On Friday we had an amazing teaching experience, at the MICHIGAN STATE CAPITOL. We got in contact with a friend who is a journalist and is very involved with the capitol proceedings. He offered to give us a tour of the capitol and the grounds while we gave him our message and it was amazing! The capitol building is literally gorgeous. The whole thing is like a work of art. He wasn't too interested in our message, but he is just the nicest guy and it was an unforgettable experience!

We had our last garden service of the year (maybe) on Saturday. It's starting to get too cold!

It's been a really great couple of weeks! Thank you all for your support!
