Sprint Week Vol. III, Featuring the Craziest Day of My Mission so Far (Week 25)

Hello everyone! It has been a very eventful week here in Michigan!

Such an amazing blessing as our mission had the opportunity to sprint once again! We set high goals as a mission this time, 1400 invites to church, 800 member lessons set, 2300 invites to be taught, and 1000 invites to read the Book of Mormon! After some good effort, our companionship was able to accomplish all of our goals and our mission crushed our sprint week goals! On Saturday, we were lacking behind a bit especially for invites to church, and in the morning devotional, President Heap challenged us to get 750 invites to church that day and President Gentile gave an amazing hype up devotional. As a mission we more than doubled that number on Saturday! It was amazing to be a part of.

Tuesday however was crazy! In the morning we had a housing inspection which was fun! And we were hanging out in the early afternoon, and Elder Johnston gets a call from the AP's, and him and Elder Anderson are getting emergency transferred out to fill in for some elders who are returning to their original assignments! They had the day to pack and would leave Wednesday night! Elder Anderson went to south haven, and Elder Johnston to Houghton lake. That was wild, so we had to take up all the people they were teaching, so we got slotted in for a lesson Tuesday night. It was with a sister in our ward and her son who is 9. We met with them and the son is just an awesome kid! We taught the Restoration and he is now on date for baptism for March 6th! He shared a really amazing thought, he said he wanted to be baptized because he wanted to live with his family in heaven, and he knew he needed to be baptized to do so. Amazing coming from a 9 year old! So grateful to be able to work with them!

The rest of this week was less eventful besides the sprinting. We said goodbye to the Elders on Wednesday. We also had district council in spring lake which was fun!

We had lessons with 2 new people on Friday and Saturday! We have gone from teaching no one to working with a few amazing individuals! What a blessing!

Yesterday was a great Sabbath day! As Isiah put it, the Sabbath is truly a delight even when we can't really rest here on the mission.

We are excited to see what this last week of the transfer brings! We get calls with more transfer news on Saturday! We have no idea if other Elders will come with us or if we will have to move to a smaller apartment or something, but we are excited!

Thank you all!

Elder Oswald
